Where the Project Stands Today
Reid Premier Farms owns land at 12 Sequoia Blvd, California City, CA — in the high desert of the Mojave, approximately 100 miles north of Los Angeles.
The property is currently undeveloped. Before we can plant crops, build infrastructure, or host visitors, we need to establish a reliable water source. Without water, nothing else can happen.
We are currently in the research and planning phase — obtaining professional estimates, studying groundwater data, and preparing for well permitting through Kern County Environmental Health.

Groundwater Basin
The property sits in the Fremont Valley Groundwater Basin, designated by DWR as low priority and not critically over-drafted. No SGMA pumping restrictions currently apply.
Expected Well Depth
Based on nearby wells, we anticipate a depth of 600-900 feet, with static water levels around 400-600 feet below surface. Yields in the area range from 25 to 2,400 GPM.
Permitting
Well permits are issued by Kern County Environmental Health Services. An agricultural well permit requires site setbacks, a licensed C-57 drilling contractor, and compliance with state well standards.
Estimated project cost: Based on nearby well data and California drilling costs ($40-65/ft for mixed alluvial formations), we estimate that establishing a water source — including drilling, casing, pump, storage, and permitting — may require approximately $55,000-$75,000 for a 600-700ft agricultural well. This is a preliminary estimate based on regional data; we are obtaining written quotes from licensed C-57 drillers and will update this figure as firm proposals come in.
